Soprano ICE Platinum laser hair removal

What is laser hair removal?

This is a process of "selective photothermolysis" - an innovative technology, a solution for long-term removal of unwanted hair on the face and body. The principle of action is based on the selective absorption of laser pulses by the pigment melanin, contained in the hair and responsible for its color.

The light energy, reaching the follicle, is converted into heat energy with a temperature of about 70 degrees and destroys the connection supplying necessary substances and hormones between the bulb and the papilla, thus the hair follicle is destroyed and can not produce new hair. Due to this, the result of laser hair removal is permanent removal of unwanted hair.

After how long does the procedure have an effect?

Even after the first procedure, laser hair removal has a visible effect, as it destroys the hair follicles that were in the anagen phase of growth, they will be pushed out of the skin, simulating growth, then will begin to fall no earlier than 2 weeks after the procedure . This is followed by a period without hair, lasting about 2-6 weeks (depending on the treated area), and shortly before the time for the next procedure, new hair appears, these are hairs that were not reached by the laser because they were not in anagen phase of growth.

How many procedures are needed?

The number of procedures depends on the treated area, skin phototype, hair structure and color, gender, age, hormonal imbalance, etc. Usually the procedures are between 6 and 10, this is because during the procedure only the hairs that are in the anagen phase of growth are removed. It is completely normal after the first procedures to have an increase in hair density, this is associated with the stimulation of "sleeping" follicles. After each subsequent procedure, the hairs decrease more and more until a complete reduction is reached.

How long does it take to have the procedure?

Laser hair removal aims to destroy the root and to be effective, the hair must be in the anagen phase of growth. Hair does not grow simultaneously on the human body, and at any given time about 20% of hair follicles are in the active phase. The procedures are done every 30-40 days.

When are maintenance procedures performed?

Soprano ICE Platinum destroys active follicles, but there are factors that activate hair growth from follicles that have been inactive so far. Such factors are pregnancy, hormonal imbalance, menopause, disease and others. If a series of procedures are not followed, there are missed angelic phases, maintenance may also be required. In general, maintenance procedures are needed for growth that is noticeable or bothers you. In normal cases, a maintenance procedure is needed every year, and in some people less often.

Is laser hair removal painful?

Laser hair removal is a painless and skin-friendly procedure. Some clients may experience slight discomfort, warmth, or tingling where the hair is thicker. With each subsequent procedure, the hair is reduced and thinned, which reduces the feeling. Is the procedure safe?

How long does the procedure last?

The duration depends on the size of the treated area. The approximate treatment time for the upper lip can be 5 minutes, for the armpits up to 15 minutes, for the legs about 30 minutes and the epilation of the whole body takes about an hour.

Do I need to do anything before and between procedures?

Yes, the hairs must be shaved for laser hair removal to be effective. Hair removal methods such as waxing are not suitable because they pluck the hair from the root and the laser pulse must reach the root of the hair to destroy its follicle. Hair removal between procedures should be done only by shortening the length of the hair, but in no case by plucking.

Are there areas that should not be treated?

In case of hormonal imbalance, a larger number of sessions may be needed to achieve a satisfactory result.

Is there a difference between photoepilation and laser hair removal?

Yes, there is. In photoepilation, the light is polychromatic (ie many colors) and in laser hair removal, the light is monochromatic (ie one color). Also, laser hair removal produces concentrated light energy with a certain wavelength, and photoepilation produces a wide range of wavelengths that are less effective. The general thing is that hair removal is done by means of light energy.
